Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By installing, accessing, or using Twyt, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
If you use Twyt on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for them.
2. What Twyt does
Twyt is a personal creator feed app. It lets you:
- Sign in with email/password or Google Sign-In.
- Search for Twitch creators.
- Follow Twitch creators.
- Optionally link YouTube channels to followed creators.
- View Twitch live status, VODs, clips, and linked YouTube uploads.
- Catch up on unseen videos, Shorts, and clips.
- Save items as favorites.
- Store personal creator notes and feed preferences.
- Personalize the app with optional Support Pack features.
Twyt displays public metadata and opens or embeds third-party media. Twyt does not host, store, or redistribute full video or livestream content.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate sign-in information.
- You are responsible for keeping your account and devices secure.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or at least 16 in the European Union.
- Do not share your account with other people.
- You may delete your account from Settings.
We may suspend or terminate access if your account or use of Twyt creates legal, security, operational, or abuse risk.
4. Support Pack purchases
Twyt may offer an optional one-time Support Pack unlock. The Support Pack is a non-consumable digital purchase that currently unlocks extra personalization features, including additional app icons, accent colors, supporter themes, and custom creator categories.
On Android builds distributed through Google Play, Support Pack purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. Google Play shows the final price, currency, taxes, payment method, and checkout terms before purchase. The fallback price shown by the app when store product data is unavailable is 2.99 EUR, but the price shown by Google Play at checkout controls.
Support Pack features are provided as part of the app and may change over time. The Support Pack does not guarantee access to third-party content, Twitch or YouTube availability, future platform APIs, or any specific creator data.
The current app stores the Support Pack unlock locally and provides a restore purchases action. Cross-device access may require using the same store account and restoring the purchase. If a platform store, device, or account cannot confirm the purchase, the app may be unable to restore the unlock automatically.
Refunds, cancellations, payment disputes, taxes, and transaction records are handled by Google Play or the relevant app store, subject to that store's policies and mandatory consumer-protection laws.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or exploit the app or backend.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, purchase checks, rate limits, or security protections.
- Use Twyt to scrape YouTube, Twitch, or any third-party service in violation of their terms.
- Upload, transmit, or store malicious, unlawful, infringing, or abusive content.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use Twyt for spam, harassment, fraud, credential harvesting, or unauthorized automation.
- Use Twyt in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
6. Third-party content and services
Twyt uses public metadata and media from YouTube and Twitch. All third-party content belongs to its original creators, platforms, or rights holders and is governed by the platform where it appears.
By using Twyt features that use YouTube content or YouTube API Services, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
YouTube API Services are also governed by the YouTube API Services Terms and Developer Policies.
Twitch content, embeds, APIs, and playback are governed by Twitch's applicable terms and privacy notice.
Authentication and backend storage are provided through Supabase. Optional payments are processed through Google Play Billing. Crash/error diagnostics may be processed by Sentry if enabled.
We do not guarantee that third-party content, metadata, streams, clips, videos, comments, schedules, thumbnails, APIs, embeds, or playback URLs will be accurate, complete, current, lawful in every location, or available at all times.
7. Your app data
You are responsible for the personal notes, saved items, creator links, local creator categories, and preferences you create in Twyt.
You retain any rights you have in your own notes and preferences. You grant Twyt the limited permission needed to store, process, sync, display, and delete that data so the app can provide its features.
Account deletion removes your user-scoped app data from the backend as described in the Privacy Policy. Local device data may also need to be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. Store purchase records are managed by Google Play or the relevant app store.
8. Intellectual property
The Twyt name, logo, original code, original design, and original app assets are owned by Stephan Densow or licensed for use in the app. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, modify, or create derivative works from the app except where permitted by law or by an applicable open-source license for third-party components.
Third-party platform names, logos, media, APIs, trademarks, and content remain the property of their respective owners. Twyt is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Twitch, YouTube, Google, Supabase, or Sentry unless expressly stated otherwise.
9. Privacy
Twyt's Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, used, shared, retained, and deleted:
10. Availability and changes
Twyt may change, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. This includes feed behavior, supported platforms, personalization options, Support Pack features, backend services, and third-party integrations.
We may also need to change or remove features because of platform policy changes, API changes, security issues, legal requirements, or operational constraints.
11. Disclaimer
Twyt is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not promise that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available forever.
- Third-party APIs, embeds, playback, or stores will always work.
- Feed data will always be current, complete, or accurate.
- Every creator, video, stream, clip, comment, schedule, or thumbnail will appear.
- Support Pack features will remain exactly the same forever.
Use the app at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stephan Densow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of Twyt.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for claims related to Twyt is limited to the amount you paid for Twyt or in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Termination
You may stop using Twyt at any time and may delete your account from Settings.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create legal or security risk, or if continuing to provide the app becomes impractical because of third-party service changes, legal requirements, or operational constraints.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, backend, purchases, service providers, legal requirements, or business needs change. When we do, we will update the effective date above and provide notice for material changes where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your country provide stronger rights.
